Alloy Steel

Alloy Steel Bar – EN 24

EN24 is a very high strength steel alloy which is supplied hardened and tempered. The grade is a nickel chromium molybdenum combination - this offers high tensile steel strength, with good ductility and wear resistance characteristics. With relatively good impact properties at low temperatures, EN24 is also suitable for a variety of elevated temperature applications.
Applications • High strength shafts • Punches & dies• Drill bushings • Retaining rings • Gears

Alloy Steel Bar – EN 8

EN8 is an unalloyed medium carbon steel grade with reasonable tensile strength. It is normally supplied in cold-drawn or as-rolled conditions. Tensile properties can vary but are usually between 500-800 N/mm². EN8 is widely used for applications that require better properties than mild steel but does not justify the costs of alloy steel. EN8 can be flame or induction hardened to produce a good surface hardness with moderate wear resistance. EN8 is available from stock in the bar and can be cut to your requirements. We also offer flame cut plates cut to your required sizes and normalized. EN8 plates can be supplied surface ground or precision ground.
Applications • Automotive parts • Connecting rods • Studs, bolts • Axles, spindles • General engineering components

Alloy Steel Bar – EN 19

EN19 Steel is a high-quality engineering alloy steel containing chromium and molybdenum. It falls in a class of low alloy steel. It has high fatigue strength, abrasion and impact resistance, toughness, and torsion strength. It can be heat treated in a number of ways to give it a combination of properties. EN19 Steel is one steel grade in BS 970-1955 standard, which is the specification for wrought steels for mechanical and allied engineering purposes. Although there is a new version of BS 970-1996 latest edition. And EN19 steel grade is similar to the 709M40 grade in the new version.
